My City Life

My City Life

Where am I this time?

Always in between here and yesterday. I stand in a dark alley where the street lamps are blinking, blinding my way here and there. I walk forward, but

One, two, three, off.

One, two, three, still off.

One, two, three, all turns on.

One, two, three, off.

One, two, three seconds of darkness.

One, two, three seconds of calmness.

So, I close my eyes and I take a deep breath. Then I step forward but a hand grabs me from behind.

I open my eyes and I am standing in the middle of a room. The walls are all blue, I feel my heart skip a beat. The walls start moving, waves forming. I am by the sea, the walls… they are windows.

Wait, the floor is cold. I look down but I can’t see my feet. Have I gone too fat in the past year?

Wait, the floor is moving. Or am I moving?

The sky is changing. The sun is setting. Where is the time going?

Oh, I see. I am still here in the middle of the room, I simply saw through the window by the west. I can simply just check the one on my right for the sunrise. But, the wall behind me is calling me, then a hand touches my shoulder and I look back.

The street lamps are back, but now, they are like Christmas lights, alternating their glittering lights. I see someone running towards me, I want to run as well, but my feet are stuck. The floor is melting. I look down but I still can’t see them. My soles are burning. I try to move my toes but I only feel the cool breeze freezing them.
