Refresh Sundays: December Blues

A whiff of the osmanthus signals the shifting season. Finally, autumn is here! Yet, why do my limbs go numb and my body begin to shiver? As swiftly as the breeze changed, the season seemed to skip again. Just as quickly as our chances arrive, the year slips away.

Now, with not even a month left before we welcome another new year, the breeze has turned freezing. Yellow and orange leaves are falling, while many trees already stand bare. Once again, we are allowed to make hopeful wishes and promise ourselves a better set of habits to build. But when do we truly begin to change?

When do we realize that we can no longer create?

So many thoughts – yet so few ways to release them for others to see.

This time, let us begin with small yet steady steps. There is still so much to look forward to as we greet each new day. I know – so well – that there will be moments of weakness, even regret. But they remind us that we are still breathing, still feeling all the things that help keep us sane.

Let me start a new week with these Sunday reflections to help keep track of my current inspiration, plans, and even challenges. Being present and yet still looking forward to the future. This will now be a new habit to make for my Refresh Sundays writing section.
